About me

I hope that in sharing a bit about me you will be able to get to know a little of who I am and how I got to where I am today. In working through my own struggles of adjusting to change and figuring out where I belong I have come to an understanding of many of the barriers to really being excited about living.
I have moved several times in my life, having experienced several different cultures in Asia, Europe and the USA. I have been challenged to find the common ground with those who on the surface appear very different from me. This has helped me understand some of the universal issues that people have, including the search for who they are and the causes for why, despite appearing to have everything, they are still unhappy. I have always struggled to understand why people can’t just get along. Through my years of experience, both personally and professionally, and through study, I have a much better understanding of why peace is so hard to come by. I also now feel like I know better how to help people find the barriers to peace and overcome them.
I have extensive experience working with teens and adults with mental illness, and with those who have been hurt or abused. Often these past issues creep up into our relationships and marriages where I have then worked with couples on how to navigate through these as they impact the relationship.
I completed my undergraduate studies in England and my graduate studies in California. I obtained my M.S. degree in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University and went on to obtain my license as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I also completed a Survey of the Bible certificate course in France prior to moving to California.
I am married and we have two beautiful children. Now that we are back in the UK, we love to explore the English countryside and love to go for walks. We also enjoy relaxing at home, which often includes watching a Disney movie that usually involves a princess or a cute animal, or both! We also love to eat and enjoy trying out new recipes or finding a new cuisine to try.
I would love to talk to you about my style as a therapist and what you can expect during a typical session. If you would like to find out more, please call me or send me an email.
